Eef. Hi, Head lice can be a problem. Part of the reason they'keep
coming back,' is that they never really leave. You must get rid of all
the eggs, which is why they are still around. Esp the eggs. Simply washing
your hair well -- while it will help some -- won't alleviate the problem
posed by the eggs. What happens is, you sleep on a bed and the eggs fall
off on, or are laid on, the pillowslips, blankets, and sheets. You've
bathed and shampood your hair, so YOU are no longer infested, but then the
eggs hatch and boom. There y'go again.

So, you may well cut your hair and still find yourself crawling
with them. I speak from a vast fund of no knowledge at all, y'unnerstand,
but this is what I've heard from others. The head lice are themselves
fragile, short lived critters, but the eggs they lay serve to perpetuate
the problem. And it only takes one egg.

Please don't cut your hair. Rather try to attack the problem of
the eggs being in your clothing, sheets, pillows, blankets, and furniture.
Basically, any place you may've leaned your head against may be suspect.
It may be traumatric to replace all your bedding, etc. but heyyy. so is
cutting your hair -- esp when that mayn't fix the problem.
