Wireless will soon be everywhere. Bluetooth tethering that comes standard on the new iPhone will allow you to use your phone as a modem.
There is also mobile broadband options.

If neither of these are for you, then search for local wifi spots in your area.

    Very broad question but I guess the answer is no. It only exists where there are valid wireless routers emitting a signal. If you go into the city or live in the city there is a greater chance of you picking up a signal than in the suburbs, since there are more buildings and stuff.

    depending on where you liv3e...some places (cyber caffee's and libraries offer it free ..you ned to have a wireless card in your laptop to access the internet..if it appears in your wireless menu without a lock near the name then it is open and you can use it
