I am happy, confused,angry
And in pain-all at the same time.
For I am a door

But i don't seem to belong to either."

It reminds me of someone who was bi-national, or multi racial. He flet he was caught btween his affiliation with both. He could see the positives of claiming both but in reality he was both and thus the door without really being one or the other. It's common for people who are bi-racial.

Perhaps the author is not living in his home country.
Or perhaps he's a teenager on the verge of adulthood.
You can probably think of other situations where a person feels pulled in two directions, but not at home in either one (religion, career, parents).

i think the author is stuggling with inner or social conflict.perhaps two aspects of his personality like being witty and being shy (bad example but still) or maybe he wants acceptance by different groups of peers. its all about how you think the author would be thinking or feeling :)

It means that a person knows about all the categories, but doesn't seem to fit into one. I think that is what it means, at least.
